We like to start with a good, old-fashioned conversation. We'll discuss your design ideas, inspirations, likes, and dislikes. If you don't have an idea in mind, that's cool too. We will walk you through our personal design process.
This is the fun part! We will work directly with you to select lumber and pick out all the finishing details. Then we will use your selections to draw a 3D model of your project and provide you with an exact quote for the project.
Sit back and let us do our thing! Don't worry, we will send you picture updates and videos throughout the process. You may even see your project on our Facebook or Instagram page!
Commissioning furniture is a journey and should be enjoyable from start to finish. The more involved and informed you are, the happier you’ll be with the results. That’s why we keep you engaged in every step of the process. Our confidence in your satisfaction is backed by years of experience dedicated to our craft and our specific process.

We’ll meet in our showroom where we can see physical examples of quality and designs.
We will work with you to select the right pieces of lumber for the project. We can pull from our extensive inventory or source lumber from our vendors.
We use a 3D modeling software to layout the design details of your project.
We will build a 3D model of your project prior to going into production so you know exactly what you’ll be purchasing and the end result.
Our team of full-time craftsmen will build your project and keep you updated on progress as we move through the production process.
Whether you’re in Kansas City or California, we will work with you to ensure your project makes it home safely.
Have confidence in your purchase knowing your project is backed by our lifetime craftsmanship guarantee.
The process can require a significant investment of time and money, but the key to making sure the process goes as smoothly as possible is trusting the company you collaborate with.
The options on the market to have furniture “custom made” can be overwhelming. You’re generally limited to selecting your dimensions from pre-made designs or choosing a source that creates furniture in their spare time
At KC Custom Hardwoods we are expert furniture makers dedicated to our craft alone. Our pieces are heirloom quality and built to stand the test of time – backed by a lifetime warranty. We will guide you through the process and provide you with a 3D model so you can easily visualize what your custom piece will look like before it’s built, giving you the confidence that you’re truly getting what you want.
We were challenged by our client on this project to create a river table effect on their coffee table without the use of epoxy, glass, or visible support across the void.
We achieved this look by using a single slab of walnut with a void in the center and waterfalling the legs to create a dramatic effect.
